A friend of mine is willing to sell me 2*512mb of Corsair ValueSelect CL2.5 DDR400 RAM for a very good price, and the sticks can OC to 220mhz stable and also come with aftermarket copper heatspreaders. The problem is the while incompatibility issue with Corsair Memory and DFI Ultra-D boards. I was originally planning to get an Ultra-D board, but if I were to get this RAM would the Ultra-D work well with it? I was also considering a large non-tower heatsink (I have a wavemaster, rear exhaust sucks, so I have 120mm side exhaust) like the XP-120. However I read from several places that the Ultra-D boards have problems with larger HSFs, and with the XP120 some of the RAM slots would be blocked.
Should I consider another Socket 939 board? What other boards should I be seriously considering besides the DFI boards? I know the EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra is a great OCing board, but I have 2 friends who have had a lot of problems with their 9NPA+ Ultra boards, so I'm a bit hesitant about getting one now.
So what do you guys suggest?
EDIT: DEFINITELY NOT GETTING A CONROE RIGHT NOW; I will get Merom when I go to college, but for now its either S939 or AM2, since the prices for those 2 are about the same
