Motherboard Problems, Need Help!!!

When I start up my computer everyday it gives me the message (Sec SlaveDrive -ATAPI Incompatible Press F1 to Resume). And if you go along with this and press F1 it starts up but my CD-RW drive does not work. The thing that confuses me is that if I press the restart button on my computer (separate button from the power button) after I get the message if boots up fine and the CD drive works. I would like to know if this is something that can be fixed or if I need to get a new motherboard. Thank You For Your Time.

Some ATAPI (IDE) CD drives take too long to get ready after powerup. The computer then gets to the drive detection before the drive itself is up, you've seen the symptom.

All you can do is disable "Quick Boot" in system BIOS, and hope that RAM counting then takes long enough to let the drive get ready before the system expects it to be.
