Motherboard problem?

For about a week now, my computer has been really hard to start. When its on it work perfectly, but if I need to restart it, for some reason it will not reboot. It will just sit there without doing any pre boot-up/bios check. If i restart it like 5-10 times it will finally boot up. Am I having a power supply problem or is my motherboard gone?

At the moment I can't get it to start up. So, I'm trying to only buy the correct part. Any help would be grateful. Thx

It's most likely to be the PSU but the mobo could also be the culprit. Since it's easier to troublshoot to find out if it's the PSU, then you should try another PSU. If you do not have a spare PSU, then you can try reducing the power load by disconnecting all CD Roms and HDD except for the OS hdd. Also disconnect some of the case fans if you have any, except for the hsf. Then remove any USB peripherals and also PCI add in cards. In short, you want to try with just the basic system. Now power up. If the problem goes away, the it's a PSU problem. If the problem remains, then it's a mobo problem, likely.
