Motherboard-Power Supply Question

something i was wondering. Would putting a new power supply, such as a seasonic or antec, affect an older motherboard. I was wondering that because I have a Intel D815EEA2 motherboard (5 years or so old) that needed a new power supply (old one died). I was curious if the higher amperage on the seasonic's rails would damage it. Can anyone enlighten me and would you please if so? Perhaps someone knows from experience. Thanks in advance.

A computer power supply is a voltage source not a current source.

A voltage source provides a constant voltage. The current drawn is determined by the load. The lower the reistance of the load, the higher the current. In practice, the voltage is not absolutely constant and may drop slightly at higher currents but that is negligible if your power supply is stable.

The current specified as a part of the power supply spec sheet is the maximum current that it can provide nothing else.
