Scenario:

In the past 8 months I have had two different motherboards, power supply's, cases, and video cards. The only thing common to both computers is a network card, sound card, and tv tuner(cable not plugged in).

Both computers have died the exact same fate. What happens is this; after trying to troubleshoot what I thought was a video card problem because the video was going in and out. I removed the power supply connector that hooks to the motherboard and I noticed that the power supply connector for the motherboard and the motherboard connector were BURNED!!. This exact thing has happened twice to both motherboards and power supply's.
And both of these computer were plugged into surge protectors and neither time the surge protector was not tripped.

The only thing I can think of that can be causing this problem is the way I am mounting my motherboard. Both motherboards I stopped using the plastic washers that you are supposed to put in between the brass motherboards risers that connects the motherboard to the case. I am thinking the motherboard is not grounded properly and I getting some kind of strange power arc. Do you think I am on the right tracK??????
