Ok - this is really lame. I received a new case for x-mas so I decided to do the swap tonight. I'm hooking up the mobo again and I'm stumped...and I now remember I had the same problem last time. I should have taken my own advice and taken tons of pics of the computer before I did this....

Anyways, I'm trying to attach the "power on/off" button from the front of the computer to the Mobo (Epox 8kha+). The problem is the book's diagram only says "Power On/Off" next to two pins - and one of the two pins has a "1" next to it.

Am I supposed to connect the orange wire to the "1" pin or the white wire? That's my question.

Thanks!

Try it one way, hit the switch, and if it doesn't boot, turn that sucker around.

i'm not an expert, but i'm a system tech at ACNT.COM, so i guess i should know this! :p

i always regaurd the colored wire as being pin 1, so if i were you i'd put orange on pin 1

wait a minute...i just realized...it doesn't matter!

think about it...all that is going on is the connection of medal...it doesn't matter which pin goes where...
either way the circuit will short and the system will turn on. the only case where the pins matter in most panels
is the LEDS

yay, me smart

Color = 1 is what I was guessing.

Thank you both for the help!

Yes, as far as power switches go (power/reset) polarity is not an issue.

LEDs, on the other hand are polarity sensitive, if an LED doesn't work one way, just turn it around.

Hard to do any damage regarding THESE frontpanel connections.
