I am looking to make myself a completly new computer and am wondering what your guys motherboard picks would be. Now this will be more or less for gaming to help you narrow it down. Currently it looks like if I go Athlon it will be DFI LANParty nForce2 Ultra motherboard so not much help there. However I am a bit rusty on intel motherboards so the top picks will be helpful and I will look em up and check em out. Mind you this will include more or less the fastest of other stuff such as 3 ghz cpu's some speedy OCZ ram and such so I will need a motherboard to keep up :p. At the time I am not too interested in overclocking abilities to help you pick.

Just the top choices for intel boards or any other athlon that might edge outthe DFI but from the looks of it that will be very few. Currently not sure if it's worth waiting for the new athlon cpu's ( whenever that happens :) ) Please no flame wars over what other people suggest just want some of the top picks at this time but mainly for intel boards.

Thanks for the info.

the dfi NFII is a great choice!
there are so many great P4 boards out there now it really dpends on what you are looking for. but seeing as how yo like the NFII you should look at the DFi LanParty Pro875. has just about the same stuff as the NFII accept that is has a single lan that is gigabit instead of duall 100's and i belive it has dual SATA instead of single, it has four ram banks for up to 4 gigs. it is an 875 so it is very feature packed and according to the anandtech reviews is is a kic kass ocer.

I have a DFI Lanparty Pro875 (albeit, I have yet to use it). Bought it 2 months ago. Still new in box. Since then, I have been reading reviews (plug for HardOCP, AnandTech, and MaximumPC and CPU mags), and of late, Abit's IC7-MAX3 seems like the board to wait for (if you have the cash, NewEgg wants $225.00, sold out though).
