Hi Everyone, I have been trying to O/C my 1090T to 4ghz. So far the highest I have got was 3792 (205*18.5) & that was with just about everything cranked up, so I dropped it back to 3700 (200*18.5) & I can have everything on auto, except I need 1.475v on Vcore.
I currently have:
Asus M5A88-V Evo Motherboard.
3 - 4 Ghz Kingston HyperX - KHX1600C9D3K3
1 - 4 Ghz Kingston HyperX - KHX1600C9D3
Today I tried using Memtest 4.2 & with all 4 sticks, it immiately gave a bunch of errors (I can't remember the # of errors, but it was quite a bit) with ram voltage set for 1.65v & memory set for 1600mhz. I did read that using all slots or 16 gigs put a strain on the mem controller, so I bumped it up to 1.7v, when I rebooted, it immediately threw up a Bios Checksum error. So for a "laugh", I reflashed the bios, & with all 4 sticks it still gave the error. I even lowered the ram speed to 1333mhz & it still gave the checksum error
So I took out 2 of the sticks & lowered the ram voltage back to 1.65v & ran memtest again. Within the first 10% it gave a few errors, so I ran each of those 2 sticks separately (in the same slots) & no errors.
Any suggestions on anything to try? While I am probably going to upgrade my cpu to SB or BD, I'm trying to figure out if I have a crappy board & should replace it or if it's something else or if it's my memory that's the issue.
