Motherboard options

I just got a Abit IC7-G and several things

1)soundblaster audigy2 zs wont work (onboard sound works but card wont )so i rma it
2) when instaling new programs when i put the cd in it takes a long time for it to autoplay

Long story short im having trouble with the board

what mobo board do you all reccomend in a 875 or 865pe motherboard for the 478

the cpu is a Northwood 3.2 ghz

you might want to try looking into an Asus P4C800, or an equivalent Intel board since you don't overclock. I think the good one from Intel is called 875PBz

Just my two cents worth here but why don't you try a little longer with the Abit board you have?

I have the Abit IC7-MAX3 and it rocks.

I use the onboard sound which is great.

No problems with the autoplay either.

Try using Microsoft's Autoplay Repair Wizard and you might want to try that Audigy card again in another PCI slot (and don't forget to disable the onboard sound in the BIOS).

Hey i just change mobo and got the P4800-e Deluxe (865pe) it works like a charm thanks guys
