Motherboard not supporting XP!!!! :S

Hello

I have quad core Q660, my motherboard is not supporting XP but vista is working fine. Vista is not working properly with my audio recording interfaces and recording softwares. I contacted the software support and audio interface support, they both said its better to use XP. I'm kinda screwed. I work as a music co-ordinator for a company which dubs the english animations and cartoons, to my countries language. I have a deadline next week for the new season which will air next month. In vista while using the recording softwares, the blue screen of death pops up and the pc restarts. And then vista tries to find the solution and asks to reinstall the audio drivers and softwares, i tried reinstalling the programs, but the problem is still their. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. HELP ME!! How to install XP!!!!

Processor - Quad Core 2.4, 8mb cache
Motherboard- Intel DG35EC
Ram - 2gb
160 gb hardisk
IDE dvdrom and dvdrw (DVDRW doesnt burn in vista but works fine with xp at my brothers pc)
USB Audio Interface - M(audio) Mobile Pre USB and Fast Track USB.
I use the built in sound card and video card.

Are you having trouble installing XP because it doesn't see any hard drives? Or if not, what is the problem with installing XP?

sorry for replying so late........had exams......and now back 😀😀
when i try to install xp, after formatting the c drive, when the copying files begins a msg pops up saying some file cannot be copied. if u skip this ur xp may not be able to run successfully. And i found another weird problem.......which is that.......my dvd rom and dvd rw works fine with another pc but when i try to burn something...........after some times burn process failed pops up.........and the dvd and dvd rw drive vanishes. It comes back after i restart my pc. Same thing happes after i watch a dvd for more than 2hrs the media player hangs and then some files cannont be found pops up. and then no dvd and dvd rw drives. Both my roms are IDE. And now please help me.........ive borrowed my brothers pc so that after i begin installing xp i don have to comeback to vista and post here again😛😛 Thanks in advance.

Try doing a low-level (not quick) format of the hard drive first off. If that doesn't work, then you either have bad media or a bad optical drive.

First, I'd guess I'd check the jumpers and the IDE cable

Then maybe reset the motherboard then connect one DVD drive up at a time making sure to change the jumpers. Then look at the PSU. Then I'd guess I'd start disconnecting and disabling until I got a different result.

What's the history of the rig ?

whats a rig ?? and tried all these jumpers and all other stuffs............and my hdd is new.........still will do low format but i need back up man:S:S rom not working..........cant burn.

A rig is simply jargon for your system hardware as put together.

Your symptoms sound like you have bad media. Is this a genuine MS XP disk or a knock off copy?

If you can't burn from your optical drive, chances are it's defective. A defective optical drive will cause the issues that you are experiencing when installing XP.

It's not a problem with jumpers, otherwise the drive would not show up at all. A bad IDE cable could potentially cause these problems as well.

Well, I think the problems in vista are related to the xp install problems
so, it might not be the media, but it doesn't hurt to check or try at this point I wouldn't skip anything. Then the next question why would the DVD drives disappear ?

That's it for me
