motherboard noise

Each time I play Fallout Tactics I get that nasty "insect noise" which I believe is called coil hum from my system. It doesn't happen when I play any other game, even ones that are considered taxing on a system.

It also fluctuates in pitch when I move the mouse around and when my character moves. I know this sounds weird but has anyone else encountered this? It's really annoying and a little worrying. Thanks.

I think you've misdiagnosed it. I don't believe this is coil whine.

Any ideas? I'm fresh out. I researched it in google and all I could come up with was that.

I've ran into that problem before but I can't remember what it was. Are you positive it's not your speakers?

I use headphones. And it's definitely coming from inside the case.

Can you isolate it with a paper towel tube?

I actually think it's coming from the video card. I remember now that the only other time I had this happen in the past was again with an ATI card.

I had a similar problem with my old ATI Radeon 9800 pro card. The fan would give a kind of whirring sound and it stopped spinning few days later.
