Motherboard mounting question

All right, I'm replacing a motherboard for the first time in a long time. Anyway, the rings around each hole on the underside of the board are such that the standoffs go outside the little ring ever so slightly and may be touching the board itself. The board is not touching the case in any other way. Will this necessarily cause a short? I bought some nylon rings that are slightly thicker than I'd like, but could I put those between the standoff and the board?

I've looked for motherboard mounting kits at the local computer store to no avail. Thanks in advance for the help.

I've never seen standoffs so large that they exceed the diameter of the holes and their surrounding area. What case is this that has those?
