Motherboard Monitor

see sig for motherboard brand...

Since my motherboard is listed as one of the options, do I choose one close or make manual settings for it to read, or can I not use it at all? If manual settings, what do I set - there are a LOT of different settings.

Hi, I think you are asking about BIOS SETUP. Just set your drives and select the LOAD OPTIMAL SETTING. After you get going you can try to customize the settings, but you should be in good shape with optimal. Luck, Jim

no, he is asking about the program called Motherboard Monitor 5. its kind of hard to set up. go to the help file. it has a step by step guide, just follow it.

Your right, thats what I'm asking about. My question was:

On the install it gives a list of motherboard manufacturers and models. My model was not listed. Does that mean its NOT compatible with my board then?

just install the program, go to the help file, and follow the guide there. it will show you how to select which sensors to use. they also have a website listed in the guide.

MBM5 is no longer updated, so if you have a newer MB, it won't be properly setup. It may still work fine with choosing a MB from the list that is close to yours (same Brand, same chipset if possible).

You might be better off using Speedfan though. I have both setup for my PC, and I do prefer MBM5. But I realize that with my next MB upgrade I will most likely need to start using Speedfan only.

Does that offer Mother Board and CPU temps though? I didn't see that as one of the features, unless I just over looked it.....

Everest shows you the temperatures. Even the GPU temperature if your graphics card has a sensor. But, it will not show them on the taskbar like MBM5.

you can also set the sensors manually, and maybe you can get a setup that works. my mobo wasnt on the list either, but it works fine.

Don't bother with unsupported, unmaintained software like MBM - use the latest version of the one that comes with your mobo. It'll work just as well as any.

I'll have to check my motherboard cd again, but I didn't see an option for a MB monitoring system app to install.....

Abit's monitor program is called Abit EQ - don't ask me why... There is a version on the CD or you can DL the latest from the Abit web site (I just checked and the latest is from 2004 so you probably have the latest on your CD).
