I have two old computers that got from my work. One is a Dell Optiplex GX260, and the other is a Dell Precision 340. I am trying to upgrade them to run Myth TV. I was wondering is there a limit to the CPU for these motherboards, or could I just upgrade to a really fast 3+GHz quad-core processor?

Unless they're micro atx format, you may be limited. Most dell boards won't upgrade cpus easily. Intel has had several socket 775 chipsets. For core2 duo, you need one of the following: 965, p35, p45, x38, x48 and the nvidia which aren't on any dells that I know of. Use cpu-z and see if your board chipset is displayed.
