Hi,

I recently purchased 2 Asus p4p800 SEs to replace 2 older asus boards (p4s333s).

After setting each up, I found that one of them was giving me some trouble. On the first boot up it

displayed the message "NEW CPU INSTALLLED" and to enter bios to edit configuration.

Well now both boards did this to me, but on this one, it continues to do it on each boot, wether I enter/edit

the bios or not.

I can continue to load windows using the F2 key. So basically with this board I need to hit F2 on each

startup to get windows loading.

Whereas the working board does not have this issue.

I have tried swapping power supplies, ram, and the CPU. I have also cleared the CMOS.

if I could just get it to stop telling me a new cpu was installed!

Parts being used:
PSU: antec 430, antec 300
RAM: kingston valueram 512mb pc3200, buffalo 512mb micron-g pc 3200
CPU: 2 p4 1.6As 1.5v
Video: 2 BBA Radeon 8500 64mb
Hard drives: 1 80gig seagate barr. 4, 1 60gig seagate barr. 4

I will be sending it back I guess if I cant find a solution.

thx replies appreciated.

I think I can clarify that,

Before I started anything, I popped the 2 drives in my system and deleted the partitions.

So as is stands they are just unpartitioned space on both drives.

By loading windows I meant loading the OS install disk. Which is where I just stopped at.
