Motherboard installation

Do I just hold the motherboard up to the side of the case and line up the holes? Also, my board has some funky looking holes that have some metal circle with lines of metal running to the hole. Are these my holes to secure the board to the case and if so is the metal to ground the board to the case?

Thanks for all you guys help. I really appreciate the time you have spent.

Also, if I want to test my motherboard prior to installation should I plug in my video card or do it after I test the motherboard?

I put my mobo/mem/vid card together outside the case and booted it up and I was able to enter my bios so I guess everything is working. Should I prep my bios at this stage or just continue to assemble?
