i'm midway through my first setup only to find that i don't have any spacers (that i know of) for attaching the motherboard to the case. is this something that is provided by the case? i'm 99% positive that my case doesn't have them, unless they are in the form of something i wouldn't recognize... which i doubt. i'm pretty sure my mobo wouldn't come with them... so at this point, assuming i don't have any.... where can i find some? like a cpu true value with hdd cables and spacers and things of that nature....

it's sitting on my dining room table at the moment, wearing on the misses's patience, so the sooner i can get this taken care of, the better off i (and my computer) will be. thanks, guys

Standoffs should be provided by the case. They can vary from case to case; consult your manual for the type to look for.

no manual, just a box with the case in it. inside the case is a small box with a slide cover that contains rails for drives. there are two stickers which show how to install the different types of drives. other than that, i'm having to wing it. can standoffs be bought seperately?

You might have some luck if you have a small local computer parts specialty store. Might not have as much luck if you go to someplace big like Comp USA or something like that. I have a small independently owned computer parts place not far from where I live and they have bins and bins of all kinds of stuff you would ever need to build a PC and they also sell a lot of cases. If you have someplace like this you know of near you, try it. Or look in the yellow pages.
