Motherboard Info

😕

Where can I check on my computer for the make/model/style/whatever of my motherboard?

I would like to upgrade my processor but I want to be certain what my mo-baord is. I think I'm getting conflicting info, so I want to be sure I'm looking in the right place.

I have a desktop XP Home system with an AMD processor.

Also...how can I be sure what memory chipset is installed???

Thanks everyone!

Usually the model of the motherboard is printed on it, just have to take the side off and check.
Sometimes its its hard to locate as they all put the models in different places or if you don't want to poke around in side there are some free software that can help

Everest uses to have a free version called everest home

another one that I've been using is called SIW from here
you can go to the motherboard second under hardware in the program and it should tell you the model name

Thanks guys.....everest didn't seem to have anything terribly obvious, and I know I can look at the board, but I was hoping to not have to do that if I could help it.

I must have gone to motherboards.com instead of *.org. That might prove to be a good resource, thanks.

I appreciate the help! 🙂

Slugbait......that's the ticket, thanks!

And thanks to the rest for the help...I appreciate it.
