Hi chaps,
First timer here... please be nice 🙂
I've got this old computer here with a Pentium D 805 proc and an Asus P5N73-AM motherboard (Geforce 7050/ mForce 610i) and no GPU.
The thing is, the MB has some variable fan speed thing which simply makes my proc fan speed up to around 4000 rpms every once in a while, which gets really annoying in no time at all.
Needs: I'm not much of a gamer, but I'd like to be able to play NFS shift full screen without any issues.
Need your help with the following:
1. What's the best replacement method? Can I just replace the MB and get a better solution that won't drive me up the wall or should I invest in a new Proc/MB altogether?
2. I'm thinking DDR2-800 support depends on the MB and shouldn't be an issue with my proc. Do let me know if it isn't.
3. Based on my needs (play NFS shift at 1280x960 or similar resolutions comfortably), what GPU will I need? I'd like to think it doesn't need to be expensive and I'd really like a very low power / low noise solution. Am I asking for too much?
Thats it guys. I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong area - wasn't sure where my request belonged.
