Hey wasup everyone I'm new to the forums :D, anyways I recently bought the M2N-E motherboard without knowing how crappy it actually was:S, at the moment I have a Athlon 64 3000+ Processor with 2 (1GB) G. Skill Sticks of DDR2 800(PC6400) which runs @ 2.0V im running @ 1.95V ram an MSI Geforce 8600GT Overclocked Edition 256MB DDR3 everything is at stock at the moment runs great I havent had any problems with the install It came with the latest bios revision (I believe) I have no problems no system boot hang ups, my question is I just recently bought a Athlon X2 5000+ Dual Core @ 2.6 Ghz. Will I not have the fullest potential because the board is holding me back? Will I even notice a performance increase because based on the posts I've read here about the M2N-E it suppose to be quite bad. I jsut don't want to have a Dual Core processor that wont even show great improvement. Atm I dont know much about overclocking so I'll be reading up on it to see if I do decide to OC. But will I notice improvement from my 3000+ Single core to my 5000+ Dual core on this motherboard or will the motherboard limit its pereformance? also will I have to change anything in the Bios such or reformat etc. so it can recognize my new processor??
Ty.

All you need to do is uninstall the current amd driver, reboot, and install the dual core amd driver. Use your favorite search engine for "amd drivers". If your board doesn't correctly recognize the 5000, go to asus m2n-e page and look for bios updates. Check your bios version at the post. It should be listed on the top or bottom of the page. Don't flash the bios unless it's absolutely necessary. I've had about 3-4 dead boards from bad flashes in 15 years of building systems. It happens to everyone sooner or later.
