i've searched over and over for a guide to explain all the differences in motherboards, but haven't found it. please explain or post links to answer my questions and then some. this is based on new pc i plan on building within several months (hopefully). i'll probably go intel.
1. am2, 680i, 780i, p35, x38, x48, etc. what are the important differences? and compatability issues? which will run 65nm cores and 45s? anything else that's important
2. fsb 200--->? how does this affect overclocking? what is good, and what is more than i need as a new oc'er?
3. 1066, 1333, 1600? numbers i keep seeing, but don't know how much they affect performance, and how to tell what mobo will allow what? ddr, ddr2, ddr3 - which goes where? what are good combos btw ram and mobo?
4. what makes mobo a good oc'er? how do different bios's affect oc? what would you recommend?
5. 100's mobos selling. what should i seriously be looking for when considering a purchase?
i might add more q's to this later. but this is enough for now. again, please add links if NEWER guides exist. thanks for your answers.
