Hey guys,
Here's the deal, this is a friend's computer. Anyway, we would turn the computer on but nothing would happen. Even the power supply fan wouldn't run, so we got a new power supply and installed it. Now, when we turn the switch on the power supply and press the power switch (which is connected to the motherboard), cd-rom ligths come on (but the eject button doesn't work) and the power led light blinks, but the cpu fan doesn't turn on and nothing else happens (you don't hear the hard drive cranking or no sounds and no display). Anyway, when I press the power switch again, the lights just stay on (this may be trivial) and it must be turned off by the switch on the power supply.
Also, in the beginnning, we could smell that the power supply (the original one) was burnt and when we opened it up, it was. So, is the motherboard bad or did we somehow connet the power supply up wrong? Is there a way to tell if the motherboard is bad?
Thanks,
Arielladog
