MotherBoard Gone Wild

I have narrowed it down to 3 Mobo and just wanted a little feed back. The following boards will be for my A64 3200+ Winnie. I don't plan to overclock untill later. Value Ram Probably a BFG 6600 GT.

1.) MSI K8N NEO4 Plat 142.00 PCI-E Chipset NF4

2.) Asus A8V-E 145.00 PCI-E Chipset VIA K8t890

3.) Asus A8N-E 132.00 PCI-E Chipset NF4 Ultra

4.) CHAINTECH VNF4/Ultra 84.00 PCI-E Chipset NF4 Ultra

My main question is for the Asus boards. I think It comes down to the chipset. So please address that in your comments. I think I can't go wrong with either of the 4 and all are within a good price range. This will be my first build. Thanks in advance for the commentary.

I added the Chaintech last minute. Priced much cheaper.

Asus A8N-E. The nForce chips are great performers. Don't get me wrong, I had the A8V with the VIA chipset in it and it was one of the best board i have ever owned! I here the New VIA chipset is even better but if your looking for the top performer then the nForce 4 is going to win.

MSI, I just got this board this past weekend after dealing with a DFI I just wasn't happy with and it worked BEAUTIFULLY! Definatly a good board.

I have the Chaintech vnf4ultra. It's a great board IMO. I doesn't have firewire, but it's still good. It supports Venice core cpus(have you considered getting a venice, or do you already have a winnie?) and with bios update dual core(x2). The nforce 4ultra/sli are the fastest amd64 chipsets and the vnf4ultra is one of the faster nforce4ultras, so it's fast. It's also cheap. On pcper.com there is a chaintech thread that has very knowledgeable chaintech guys on there who can help with all sorts of things. Not that the other choices are bad, they are good too, but the vnf4ultra is similar performance for about $50-60 less.

The ASUS A8N-E would be my choice, but then again,

If all 3 NF4 Ultra mobos have similar features, I may just

pick the cheapest one.

Thanks for the responses so far ! I have not looked into a venice. Know of a place to purchase one ? What's the OPN ?

OPN is the Order Part Number I asked eariler assuming you might know what it stood for. I didn't know myself. Thanks for the links and the info helped out a lot. Ill go with the vinice for only $15.00 more.

unless you're going to take advantage of the features the $140+ boards offer, go with the chaintech

Which DFI did you have and what did you not like about it?

Just curious.

I have the DFI NF 4 Ultra-D and it has been a nightmare, started out would only run w/512MB stick, now it won't boot into windows at all, so I'm looking for a new board too.
