Had a friend drop off his comp for me to look at. He said it was working and he heard a pop and smelled something like it was burning (never a good sign). First thing I noticed was alot of dust in the case.. and a definately burned out powersupply.
So I replaced the powersupply. The motherboard is an ASUS A7V266-EAA.
When I power up the new p/s the power light on the m/b lights up that its getting power. The cpu and northbridge fans spin for about 1/2 spin then nothing.
I cleared the cmos jumper by the battery in case there was a halt on problem in the bios.

Any other suggestions or should i start looking for another m/b?
And if so what would the best replacement be reasonably?

Yeah sounds fried to me... I'd make sure first by unplugging everything attached to the board and see if it posts... kinda sounds like what happened to my old toshiba laptop.
