Motherboard for T-Bird 1200

Well it looks like my MSI K7T Turbo-R took a gut-wrenching crap on me today. Need to find a decent motherboard to pop the T-Bird in that costs less than $70. I have 512 MB of both SDRAM and DDR memory available, so that is not a factor. This is in my "basement" machine that I use for music, playing DVD's, etc., but has some good components that I don't want to see just sitting around. I'm thinking maybe a KT400 board such as Asus A7V8X-X or an A-Open AK77-8XN. It has to have the four mounting holes around the CPU socket as I'm running a Swiftech MC462-A cooler. Thanks for any input.

A very cost effective board that supports that chip is the ECS K7S5A Pro, however it does not have the 4 mounting holes you require. I happen to have a FIC AD-11 that supports that chip, if you are interested in it, PM me.

Take a look at the Shuttle AN35N Nforce 2 board. It will provide better performance than a KT400, and costs less than the $75 you mentioned. It also provides decent onboard sound and LAN and supports all current XP class processors. And yes, it has the four mounting holes around the CPU socket that you need. Multiwave is a good vendor to order one from. You won't be sorry.
