Having read numerous threads here regarding the wonderful P3 700 cb0 overclocking, I am determined to dump my Celeron 300A(@450) on ABIT BX6.
I have ordered the PIII 700 from Oniva.com, and keep my finger crossed for a cb0.

BUT... which motherboard should I get, and additional H/F???
I have read the reports in the Database of overclockers.com, but no one really suggested a best MB for it.

I hope I can overclock it at 931 MHz (700X133)
I have 128MB PC100 generic RAM, and a ATI MAXX AGP graphic card.

Guys, I am ready to go... please lend me your "2 cents"!

DO NOT GET THE BM6, it sucks! My BM6 had a hard time running a Celeron 366@550. I moved the chip to a BH6 and it ran fine there.

For the PIII 700 I would suggest an Asus CUBX, it is the motherboard to get for overclocking a PIII. CPU and chipset voltage adjustment are included. The board was basically designed with BX133 in mind. I love my CUBX, my first Asus board. I have been getting Abit boards for a while now and i have to say that overall this board is much more stable than the BH6, BE6, or BM6.

Get an ASUS CUBX, or if you can afford one, ASUS CUSL2. Very fast, stable, you won't regret getting one.

GET the BX chipset ASUS P3BF.

Via blows goats. You have to get special drivers and updates.

Get INTEL.

OK, I am gona go for the ASUS CUBX... is it a 370 mobo, or I have to get a socket adaptor?
BTW: is my old Abit BX6 can do any better than the Celly300A(@450), can I upgrade to C566 and expecting 850?

Thanks for all the posts, you guys are great!!!!!!

CUBX is socket370, you will not regret it. You could shoot for 850 out of a Celeron 566 but a Coppermine PIII at 700 will outperform it.

I have an Asus P3V4X. It's great and it can blow all the goats it wants as long as it gets my 700 up to over a gig!

Agree....my Asus P3V4X is running my P3 700 SL454 at 1008mhz at 1.75v. It may be blowin' goats but it's blowin' em very quickly!

OK, guys. My P3 700 CPU is on the way;
Just ordered the ASUS CUBX mobo;
what else???
OHHH, the cooling!
As I said, my 1st goal is to achieve 700@933, I will try go beyond (depends on my PC100 SDRAM and my ATI MAXX), what cooling do I get for this mobo? and where?

Any suggestions and links will be appreciated.

I really can't wait to have this work out! You guys are being very very helpful, THANKS!!!

Asus P3V4X with a P-3 700E running at 1022 mhz for the last 4 weeks no problems at all.

Well unless you have extremely high quality PC100 SDRAM it most likely will NOT be able to hit 133Mhz FSB. :( That will probably be your limiting factor (unless, like I said, it's really high quality stuff). Shoot for the 133 but if it won't make it, try swapping out your RAM for a friend's PC133 if possible just for testing purposes. That way you'll know if it's the RAM or cpu.

Does the CUBX offer different ratios for the FSB/RAM/CPU bus speed settings? If so then don't worry, just run the RAM at 100Mhz and overclock the cpu. :)

For cooling people seem to like the Golden Orb. It's pretty cheap, looks cool, and is actually pretty good at cooling though if you want the best (at a price) get an Alpha HS/Fan.
