Motherboard for Overclocking an AMD barton 2500+

i'd also say the Abit NF7-S rev. 2 or the DFI ultra boards but it depends on what else you're looking for in a board. if you need overclocking features, SATA and RAID then you should look at these boards. there are cheaper nForce2 ultra boards out there that also offer all the overclocking features but without support for SATA and RAID. for ram i would suggest Corsair, OCZ, Mushkin and Kingston. look for ram by these brands with cas of 2 in flavors of PC3200 or higher.

Why does everybody go for NF7-S?
Is there anything wrong with the NF7 (besides lacking SATA and those additional extras?)
I hope they perform the same, since I just ordered an NF7 to overclock a Barton 2500+ with!

i was thinking the same thing myself but when i was considering Albatron's KX18D Pro II vs. KX18D Pro. the Pro II has the SATA and RAID features which i don't need and retails for about $100. hence i went with the cheaper $60 Pro board instead. it overclocks just fine. i think your NF7 will perform just fine just without the added features.

I'm using a Shuttle AN35 Ultra...
Promise PCI SATA Raid controller
ATI 9600 Pro
Leadtek Winfast 2000 TV

XP2500+ runs fine at default voltage to 3200+ (400Mhz)

Kingston HyperX PC3200 (2 v 512MB)
