I'm out of the motherboard loop these days, but I think I'm going to get an i7-3770K in the near future, and I need a good motherboard to do some moderate OCing (I'm not going to go crazy; I'd be happy with 4.0-4.2GHz). So far that's a pretty standard question for this board. I have two other specific requirements for the board I want to buy.
1. I want to know that it will perform well when all DIMM slots are populated.
2. I want to have BIOS options to control as many prefetching features as possible.
I'm not sure if it's still a problem, but it used to be the case that some motherboards wouldn't work as well when all the DIMM slots were filled. If this is a non-issue these days, then I'd be interested to hear it.
My google-fu has only revealed the existence of configurable prefetching options in the ASRock Z77 Pro4 motherboard. I only searched for Z77 motherboards with prefetching options, but this is the only clear evidence I found of the existence of these options.
Thanks for any help answering these questions.
