Motherboard for a Linux Samba server

What motherboards would anyone recommend for building a new Samba server? I?m looking for RAID options (5 or 10), reliability, and cost.

Thanks

What scale are we talking about? Five clients, 50, 500? What kind of traffic? Backup strategy (no, RAID is not a valid answer)? Etc. etc.

The mainboard would be the least (and last) of your worries if you want to build a server - and do it right.

There will be about five clients. Backups will be made to DVD's. The system is for a dance studio to store their video, pictures, and music on. Documents would also be stored there. They are currently using way too many USB drives that are causing problems.
