I'm not sure where to put this... I'm wondering if anandtech could talk to the motherboard manufacturers about the enthusiasts from anandtech designing 'their own motherboard', kind of thing... through maybe a little flash applet or something...
I'm not sure of the financial viability of actually selling a motherboard designed by the enthusiast base, but I've always felt motherboard design (in terms of usability) has been sitting in the pits for a long time. i.e. the majority of ports on the back of the computer instead of the front or bottom (at the sides), instead of all the way at the back.
Next is the lack of easy conversion and integration of standard displace devices (RCA -> Component -->VGA -> SVIDEO --> HDTV --> ETC.
I always felt the disconnect between video cards and tv tuners was a horrible thing that could have been fixed via some kind of converter, even if the quality wasn't the best, at least you could use your PC's Monitor for stuff like games, and other analog devices.
Those are my thoughts on the matter
