Motherboard Death?

I have the Biostar 965PT (old I know)
with a E6420 and 2gigs of Corsair vs ddr2 667
Dell OEM Nvidia 8600GTS
OCZ 550w psu
three hds and two rom drives

The problem is when I power on I get lights and fans but nothing else.
I reset the cmos with no effect. The HDs were all unplugged and nothing changed.
I tried to make it throw beep codes by pulling ram and disconnecting the cpu fan.
According to the manual if theres a video card error its suppose to beep at me.
So I'm guessing that its one of three things either the cpu took a dump, the video card took a dump, or last and finally the board is gone. I have zero spares right now my wife made me clear everything so I'm going to try and get a loaner vid card to see if thats the issuebut if anyone has anymore Ideas I'd be greatfull to hear them.

Thanks
Ben

Have you tried the onboard video? I'm thinking that the CPU took a dump-When you try booting without the CPU you just get fans running and lights on-no beep codes. Did you system have any signs of instability before this occurred?

I feel your pain, believe me. Been there, done that.

The PC should boot and give you some kind of beep code even if the video card isn't in. If the CPU is bad the PSU will click on then off again. If its the board, same thing. The fact you're getting lights and fans is weird.

Stupid thought but your motherboard speaker is plugged in, right? Not the speakers plugged into the sound card, but the cheap little chassis speaker. Dumb thought, I know, but its happened before.

I'll double check it all again today. It was late for me last night as I should have been asleep when I was doing the initial trouble shooting on it. I'll give it a fresh look today.

1. Remove the RAM and place it in another slot and see if it boots after that. If you are using two or more sticks, try a bootup with only one stick in place.

2. Reset CMOS and then pull out the button cell on the mobo and then re-insert after 30s.
