Motherboard CPU support page lists particular stepping of CPU. Can I use different stepping?

ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 supports Intel Pentium 4 651 stepping B1. Can I use different stepping (C1 or D0) of same CPU?

I have motherboard on-hand, and I want to play around with Prescott (65 nm) with HT.

Yes; any stepping that's the same or newer than the one specified should work fine.

Technically, it's Cedar Mill, not Prescott.
B1 was the first released stepping.
C1 added EIST
