I have been given a XFX 7800gt and have gotten $200-$300 for those items here is what I picked. A little over budget and would look to cut a couple of dollars if you can see where.

You could go with a 400w Fortron to shave off a few bucks, it will be plenty for that system. If you live near a Fry's maybe you can get the CPU/motherboard combo that basicly gives you the motherboard for free.

Sadly No fry's within 8 hrs of me, and the I am hoping to upgrade to a DX10 compatible card sooner or later and would like the PSU to be ready. But were the choices decent?

don't think you need such a high power rating on the psu. I think you'd get along with 400-430 just fine. Also, if you can give up the second slot on the board knowing full well you won't want more tha 1gig in the future, getting a 2x512 kit is usually cheaper....
It all depends on whether you are OCing or not. Get slower timings and increase the voltage for the same speed, or slower speeds and better ram to OC to what you do want. Personally I'd try and get some more dough and go after this set-up. It is what I'm currently building for people. I think its a good value system for some good overclocks...

As Comdrpopnfresh pointed out, ZZF has better memory deals in that range. You can get 2GB Corsair DDR2-667 for $67.50 or DDR2-675 for $69.50, both cheaper than the Newegg Kingston DDR2-667 for $71.98. However, I would go for the slightly more expensive Wintec AMPO DDR2-800 for ~$82 (after consolidated shipping) at Newegg.

Now, as for the motherboard, the GA-965GZM-S2 isn't bad for an integrated board, but I would suggest the GA-945P-S3 since you already have a video card.

As someone above stated, a 400W PSU should be fine. I suggest the FSP ATX400-PA.

And, like you have already picked out, the E4300 should be pretty darn fast for you.

That all comes to $320.01, which is over-budget. However, I wouldn't suggest cutting corners just to save money--with one exception. If you can muster the patience, Frys periodically has Ultra PSUs on sale for free after rebate. If you wait long enough, you're sure to save some money, there. If you need the parts now, though, just bite the bullet and spend $320.
