mobo: asus m5a97 evo
cpu: phenom 965 b.e.

Basically my cpu lags alot, especially when i move my mouse around while moving my character in game, at the same time, and i cant help but think this is a motherboard problem. its jittery and theres also cases of microstutter

ive tried 3 gaming mice (high and low dpi) on 2 gaming mouse pads, problem was still there

ive tried a couple gfx cards, both nvidia and amd, old and new drivers, a bunch of different settings, problem still there

i've tried new sticks of ram, doesnt help

once i was told about an in-game graph i can use in BF3 (in happens in all games but this game is the worst), i did so and found out it was my cpu that was spiking in response times, i took some screenshots. each time my game stutters or i notice a moment of lag the graph correlates accurately with the cpu

the motherboard was a refurbished, it was my first build and i thought i got a good deal but probably should have got a new one.

i can run prime95 with no errors which is odd, the problem is when im in game, and it happens the most when im in a complex/high action area

i've also closed programs and disabled anti-virus, doesnt help

first thing i would try is to check in BIOS if the processor is running at the correct speed; if all cores are active. that's still a decent CPU and i wouldn't thin you would have performance issues with games.

also, which graphics cards have you tried?
