I received my new EPoX 8KTA3 and 1.2 today and plan on installing tonight. I am currently running w2k on a Asus K7V/ Athlon 700. Do I need to reinstall the OS after the swap, or can I just delete the motherboard drivers and then swap boards, then install new board? [Last time I did this I was running windows98 so I am a little unsure.

Any help or other suggestions appreciated!

I seriously recommend a re-install.

There will always be some crap remaining in the registry & left-over things. Believe me - it's considerably less grief for you to do a fresh install.

On the plus side - it gives you a clean registry, so things (namely windoze) will be working faster than your "old" systems.

Seriously - do the reinstall - definately the much healthier option.

Do yourself a favor and do a clean install with all the latest drivers for all the componets that will be installed. The keeps your OS clean, sable, and troble free.

Plus it doesn't take that much time to do a clean install and is well worth it.
