Hello,

I want to buy the Albatron motherboard PX915G4-Pro. :)

Product Link: http://www.albatron.com.tw/Eng...k=Specification&no=147

On its site it is mentioned that the motherboard is compatible with all of the Pentium 4 478 pin PRESCOTT processors. Nothing about Northwood processors is mentioned.:(

My current processor being Intel Pentium 4, 478 pin, 2.0 ghz Northwood processor with 512 kb L2 cache.;)

Will this motherboard SUPPORT or is COMPATIBLE with my current Processor P4 2.0 Ghz, 512kb L2 cache Northwood....

PS: I don't wish to upgrade my current processor to a dual core, core 2duo or quad core like something.... I'm satisfied with my current processor:cool:

Thanks.

I researched this for you, and their manual also said support for socket 478 Pentium 4 Prescotts with no mention of support for Northwood procs. I would say it doesn't support them, but I would email Albatron and ask just to make sure.

I never have seen a Socket 478 i915G based motherboard before!
In Albatron's site, there's no mention for Northwood support, only Prescott. The ask is: Prescott is the faster CPU of that motherboard support or Northwood isn't supported?
In Motherboard's Manual the CPU Support will indicate it. I think the better choice for your 2GHz Northwood is a i875P, i865PE or i865G based motherboard.
