If you look here:

http://downloadcenter.intel.co...ullName=Windows+Server*+2003&lang=eng&strOSs=84&submit=Go!

you can see that Win2k3 Server, several editions of it in fact, are supported by the "4, 3, and 900" series chipsets, i.e. P35, P45.

OS:Windows Server* 2003, Windows Server* 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition, Windows Server* 2003 Standard Edition, Windows Server* 2003 Standard x64 Edition, Windows Server* 2008,

So, generally any decent board with a P35 or P45 chipset should work.

This Biostar has Win2K3S drivers on its download site:

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/...er/driver.php?S_ID=365

So does this Gigabyte board:

And, this well priced Supermicro version, which is probably what I would get were I going to run a server OS:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813182125

It supports all flavors of Win2k3S:

Most new motherboards, Like P35 can handle 8 gigs of RAM. The main issue is the number of RAM Slots. The more the motherboard is designed to be used as a server the higher the price tag goes up. Sometimes if you fill all the RAM Slots up the average motherboard may actually run slower.

You do realize that standard Server 03 or SBS 03 only recognizes about 3.5 GB of RAM...right?

This is due to the 32 bit software limitation...just like XP...

Now, Server 2008 should recognize the 8 GB no problems.

As for the hardware...it doesn't care. Not like Apple software ;) But I would check the vendor site to make sure that the drivers for any onboard hardware are available for Server 2003...

HTH....
