Motherboard change and Win7 reinstall

I've been using Win7 Home Premium for about a year, but now will be changing motherboards. What can I expect from Microsoft with their 'Genuine Advantage'?

Not sure what you mean. You'll probably have to reinstall Windows...other than the time-consuming part of that, I don't foresee any problems as long as it's a legit copy you're using.

I updated from a Q9300 and a p43 board to a i5-2500k and a p67 board. All I did was uninstall the driver packages that were actually in the programs and features list, shutdown, rebuild with new stuff, and start up. Windows 7 is smart enough o figure out the driver situation. Then you can install all the new drivers. My windows 7 did ask me to re-activate, but it worked without needing to call.

Yeah, I am not sure what the algorithm is they use to determine if you need to call. My hard drive and video card is the only thing that stayed the same. I had maybe re-activated the computer twice on the previous hardware.

Changed from an AMD 6-Core MB/CPU to a P8P67 LE MB/CPU, and WGA did not require a refresh... Change the P8P67 LE, for a P8P67 Deluxe, and WGA required a refresh/call in. I'm using a Win7pro upgrade version, and once I called home, and input the proper codes, I have WGA good to go.
