I am looking into buying a new case, but noticed many of the ones I like have spaces in the front for USB and other ports. The motherboard that I will be using doesn't have any ports in front. Will this be a problem at all? Is there any danger of debris or anything else somehow getting into the open holes in the front while the PC is on and doing any damage? Thanks.

Many motherboards have plugs for the front USB and audio and the cases have the wiring pins (they are kind of confusing) to attach to the MB. If you don't plan to use the front ports I find using wide clear scotch tape and cut out the shape of the large hole around the ports to cover them up to be on the safe side. Look for a case with a door over the plugs and keep the case clean of dust. Most dust actually comes from inside the case and then goes through the holes (if you dont' have a fan right behind the port opening). I blow my case out every month ( I have screens behind all the front holes and it is amazing how quick the dust accumulates on the screening material)

Huh? You'll be just fine. Front USB/firewire/ect ports in the front/top of a case are optional.
