Motherboard buying help

New to pc building and have no idea what motherboard to buy. I plan on getting a i5 2500k at microcenter today since its on sale. I plan on overclocking later when I have more experience with pc building.

Do you want to use 2500k's iGPU or have the ability to?

If the answer is "yes" to the iGPU and you want to overclock then you'll most likely want a Z68 (older but still good) or Z77 (newest and just released) motherboard.

It also depends on the features you need... HDMI out, VGA out, audio capability, video capability. The sales rep at MC should be able to help you out.

Stick with a good name brand... Gigabyte is my favorite, but Asus, Intel, ASRock and others are quality as well.

iGPU? i dont think im going to use that since im probly going to get a graphics card like everyone else. Whats a good mobo that you guys think i will need without all the fancy smancy. Building pc for gaming use and program use

'Think' you'll get a graphics card? With the Z68 you have the option to use the Intel graphics or go to a video card. That's what I did for 4 months until I decided on a card (and waited for it to go on sale...) You get the wrong board, you don't have graphics without a card (i.e. P67.)
