I have a buddy that I used to work with at TCWO that now works at Sunnytech. I'm too busy to build PC's sometimes, so I had Sunnytech build a few for me. They primarily use AOpen product. I love the cases. They're well made and have either Sparkle or FSP power supplies. I love the optical drives. But the AOpen motherboards he was using sucked. I had been using Biostar or MSI boards. He couldn't get Biostar or the model MSI I used.
The AOpen had SATA RAID, but no RAID BIOS, so I couldn't create an array or mirror a drive at the BIOS level. And an on-board NIC died on one of the machines. And two of the 2000 installs suddenly quit bootng one week after being on-site! I never had that problem with my builds!
After a while, I decided to give Sunnytech another chance. My friend had called me up and said that he had another AOpen board that he didn't have reservations selling to me. I tried them out and they looked good. The RAID controller had a BIOS, and so far all of the on-board peripherals seem to work fine.
But in the BIOS, I saw something that I had never seen before... not even in previous AOpen boards....
Credits?!?!
There were credits for motherboard design, engineering, etc... A whole list of staff that was involved in the engineering of the motherboard! Has anyone ever seen this before? I have to admit it's pretty cool. I mean, it doesn't necessarily make the board any BETTER, but it definitely gives it some personality.
