I put a bid on for a motherboard that was partially broken, the owner tried flashing the bios but messed that up hehe. however other than that he just said one of the transistors smelled a little burnt.
for fixing the bios i know as far as to purchase a functioning bios chip from the company website and reseting cmos by jumper or by removing all sources of power. Are there more things that need done in order to fix that part of the problem? i read more on 'hotflashing' but don't know how exactly to do that.
as for testing and replacing a transitor if neccessary that might prove just as hard as transistors can get very tiny. but i do have some skill with a soldering iron and replacing electronics.
