I want to update my BIOS on my motherboard, an ASUS A7V8X. The thing is, no matter whether I use EZ Flash (ASUS own update thingy) or AFLASH I can't seem to access the option that says "update BIOS including Boot Block and ESCD". The only option I can access is "update BIOS without Boot Block and ESCD".

The manual clearly states that I need to update both Boot block area as well as the main BIOS area. What to do? anyone? Without updating my BIOS fully I'm worried that my overclocking ability will be severely limited...

Having started my overclocking experience I've run into few questionmarks:

1. Why is my Vcore reported as being at 1.87 by CPU-Z and ASUS Probe when I set it at 1.7 in the BIOS? The BIOS actually reports 1.87 as well...
2. Is 51C acceptable as idle temp for the mobile Barton?
3. Why is my monitor not coming on when I restart/reboot? (I have to turn it off completely, then when I power on the monitor comes on as well.

Some weird stuff going on...

I'm currently at 183FSB and 13 multiplier btw.

Oh come on. Some of you guys must be able to help me out here?

The monitor thingy is really annoying. It won't start back up when rebooting!

Do I need a fresh install of everything although I have NOT changed the mobo?
