Motherboard/Bios emitting nonstop beeps

First - thanks in advance for everyone who's been able to help me get this far, so far..

I've been noticing that the motherboard emits a beep over and over - nonstop. The motherboard is GIGABYTE "GA-K8NSNXP-939" nForce3 Ultra Chipset Motherboard for AMD and I believe it's an award bios - which states that repeated beeps signals a memory problem or even possibly video card problem..

The type of ram in the mobo is Kingston HyperX Series Dual Channel Kits 184-Pin 2GB(1GBx2) DDR PC-3200
Linked - http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=20-144-145&depa=1

2 bars - totalling 2 gigs.

So is it possibly that I have bad ram? Seems hard to believe since Kingston is a pretty good company as far as ram goes, from what I understand. The bars are lined in correctly - but I'm wondering if there's something with this model/kit that is uncompatible with the motherboard.

The video card is extremely old - a PNY GeForce Verto MX 4000 with 64 DDR ram. (PCI)

I guess it's possible that the card is so old the mobo isn't recognizing it? I'd want to make sure it's that before I go out and buy a video card with money that I'd rather not spend at the moment. Feedback appreciated - thanks guys.

Posted a follow up in another thread..it seems when I take one stick of ram out I get everything just fine..the boot up screen, etc..but when I have both sticks in, nonstop beeps (signals ram problem) and no bios.. I'm fairly sure I have them in correctly. I'm wondering if I need to boot up for awhile with one stick and set something in the bios that activates the dual channel ram capabilities..

Hi Jenni and welcome to AT. I thought the new 939 boards took non ecc ram. Could be wrong though. I know on my nf2 mobo, the dual channel slots are the same color. Is it that way with the 939 boards? Those are big ram sticks, are you doing Photoshop on it? These boards are fussy with ram and it might be that it just isn't compatible with your board. You shouldn't have to go into bios to enable dual channel, it should work just plugging the ram into the right slots.
I have a Giga board too and had the same problem at first. Ran it for a while as single channel until I got everything set up and running smooth, then switched it over to dual channel. I take it you have gone into bios and set your ram timings? You may have to back them off and then slowly adjust them for tighter timings. I wonder too if ram sticks that big wouldn't need a little extra juice. I had to up my ddr volts just a little to get stable dual channel. +.1v Don't know if this will help, let us know.
