I recently overclocked an AMD64 3200 on an Asus A8N-E board. I had it running about 2.5Ghz and decided enough fun. I went into the BIOS and reset it to stock specs and rebooted. It was acting real flacky and covering the middle of the post screen with 666/66/666....satanic crap. I pulled the battery and moved the jumper to clear it. I put the jumper back to the normal operating position and reinserted the battery. Then I replaced the CPU with a 3800 X2 because it has the current BIOS, 1013, which I knew would identify the CPU ok. I thught it was working ok but found now the doesn't retain any clock settings. Everything else seems ok, checked the contacts under the battery and slightly bent them up to make sure they are making contact.
I pulled the battery and tested it with my multimeter and it says the battery is 3.04V and it is supposed to be a 3V battery.
Any thoughts? I may just get another board because I'd rather have mATX for this rig, but don't like to be stumped. I'd like to have this board at least for a working spare.
