Motherboard Batteries

I'm getting ready to change out motherboard batteries on a system installed about 3 years ago. About the only details I know is that the motherboard is a Soyo.

Question: are motherboard batteries pretty generic? Can I just go to Walmart and pick one up?

A motherboard I have here from about the same period is about 3/4 inch in diameter and is 3.0 volts. Is this pretty much standard?

I have an hour travel time in this job and am trying to avoid doubling that just to get another battery.

Thanks in advance.

Hey dj4005,

Most motherboard batteries are compatible with model number CR2032.
They can be purchased at and Wal-Mart/Radio Shack for about $3.00

Best of luck,
