Motherboard Batteries

I'm getting ready to change out motherboard batteries on a system installed about 3 years ago. About the only details I know is that the motherboard is a Soyo.

Question: are motherboard batteries pretty generic? Can I just go to Walmart and pick one up?

A motherboard I have here from about the same period is about 3/4 inch in diameter and is 3.0 volts. Is this pretty much standard?

I have an hour travel time in this job and am trying to avoid doubling that just to get another battery.

While most MB/CMOS batteries are of the same "mold", there may be a slight difference. The best thing to do is open up the case and look at the battery that is installed. It will have a number on it like DL2032 (which is a 3 volt Duracell). Write down the number, go to Wallymart and get a new one. They are easy to find at most drug stores, Radio Shacks, Wallymarts, KMarts, etc; anyplace where they have a decent stock of batteries. Some may say that they are a "replacement for XXXXXX" (where the XXXXX is the number on your current battery), which is also fine.
