I could use a little help, if any of you-all-who-are-much-better-at-this-than-am-I are feeling generous. I put together this box of fun, and all was going well until I realized that it wouldn't recognize a cdrom. It would in fact recognize that there was a cdrom, and I could explore the cdrom, but couldn't run a .exe. As you could guess, this is a problem. Flashed the bios, which did no good.
The mobo is an iwill kk266; the cpu is a duron 850. The cdrom isn't the problem; I've used two, both of which have been pilfered from otherwise functional computers where they worked just fine. My present plan is to reformat (again), reflash the bios, reinstall the 4 in 1 drivers, and call it a day. Any better ideas? Please??
