I have an asrock z68 pro 3 motherboard. I previously used the mini jack on the front panel of my corsair 500r. I spun too fast in my chair though one day and my headphones ripped the jack right out of the front panel, the headphone male plug was undamaged as I could tell. I disabled front panel audio in the bios and plugged my headphones into the rear 2 channel jack and I can hear now, but the audio sounds terrible.

Why would the audio between front panel and rear pannel sound so different? I am trying to get my old xtreme gamer pci to work in windows 7 to compensate but having no luck so far :(

Weird.. uninstalling the realtek drivers and rebooting without any drivers at all, (was trying to get creative to work and gave up) actually fixed the problem..apparently windows 7 did something without asking my permission, but it installed some drivers that sound good :O Still seems weird that the same hardware sounds differently with different drivers :/
