Hi

I am building a budget pc for the following use

* It will be mainly used as an Office PC in a Home/ Office/ Shop setup
* There could be occasional gaming (no 3D) or movie/ video watching
* No overclocking
* Should be durable in a non-AC environment

I am thinking of going with either the E2160 or E4500 C2D

I am considering P35 or G33 or G31. i am not sure which one is good for the budget and the purpose.

These are the motherboards I have in mind. Please suggest any good option other than the following also:

- Abit IP35-E
- Intel DG33FB
- Intel DP35DP
- Asus P5KPL-C
- Asus P5KPL-E

Can you please help me with a good suggestion?

Thanks.....

People on the net has told me that ASUS makes really good motherboards. I think ASUS is the best choice. Choosing a modern motherboard which has pci-express is recommended if you intend to insert a good graphics card. Playing HD Video requires a good graphics card.

Exactly what motherboard you should buy, however, I cannot tell. Bjorn3D and maybe this site also has good reviews for decent motherboards.

I can personally vouch for the IP35-E being a great overclocking board.

For a budget build with no gaming, get a g31/g33/g35 motherboard with integrated graphics instead.

To be honest, you should just go with a quick AMD cpu/motherboard as it will be cheaper/faster at stock speeds and AMD motherboards offer better integrated video options than Intel equivalents.

Or just buy a Dell/HPaq/etc with a nice big LCD monitor and be done with it.

Thanks for the reply...!

I was also thinking to go with a g31/g33 based motherboard...

Will a g31 do the job. Or Do I need to go with a g33 based Mobo.
